The Government of Malaysia has introduced Malaysia My Second Home MM2H Visa program. It allows people from
recognized countries in the world to live in Malaysia. It is not a retirement
visa as the minimum age is 21 years old. Thus, the younger generation finds it
great to stay here as well.
When you apply for MM2H visa, you
receive some benefits. What are the MM2H visa benefits? Look here for details.
MM2H Visa Is Valid for 10 Years:
In order to get MM2H benefits,
you are not required to have prior experience of staying in Malaysia. You can
get this visa by following a set of rules prescribed by the Immigration
Department.
You can stay for as long or as
short as you like. There are no "minimum number of days to stay in
Malaysia" requirement. Thus, you can get the visa and leave Malaysia and
return 10 years later to renew the visa. Alternatively, you can start staying
immediately after getting the visa and never leave Malaysia. You can renew your
passport at the local embassy.
You can renew the MM2H visa
indefinitely and it is done every 10 years. Unlike visa from other countries
where you need to renew every year or every 2 years, MM2H is the visa with the
least hassle - 10 years without having to bother about the visa.
MM2H visa is a multiple entry
visas. You can leave or enter the country number of times you want without
informing the authorities. In fact the authorities does not compel you to
report to them where you stay. You are also not required to have an address in
Malaysia. Property purchase or rental is not required as well.
Buying a car:
After getting MM2H visa processing you can purchase a car that has been assembled in Malaysia. You will be exempted from
paying the excise duty on a new car.
An application of the purchase of
a new car should be forwarded to the Ministry of Finance within a period of 1
year from the endorsement of MM2H social visit pass. You should not make an
outright purchase before getting the approval of duty or tax exemption from the
Ministry of Finance. However, the booking can be done before obtaining the
approval from the ministry.
Healthcare and Education:
Healthcare in Malaysia is one of
the best in the world and if it is put in context of the prices that you pay
for it, it is by far the best and the most value for money. Medical tourism is
a booming industry in Malaysia and it has attracted many overseas patients.
There are many good international
schools in Malaysia and the prices are reasonably cheap as compared to other
large cities like Singapore or Shanghai. It is also an education hub as there
are many good colleges and schools around.
